Care to find out what types of files are stored on one of your drives and how much disk space they take up? Let the Xinorbis application analyze that drive (a process that will not take long) and it will provide you with numerous reports that give you a detailed overview of the drive’s contents. Apart from drives, Xinorbis works with HDDs, SSDs, folders, network folders, external FireWire or USB drive, memory cards, and other removable storage devices.

The Xinorbis installation file is little over 7MB in size. A simple setup wizard guides you through the process of installing the application on your Windows PC (anything from Windows 2000 up to Windows 7). The License Agreement you are invited to read during the installation process tells you that Xinorbis will be installed in trial mode, that you can use the trial for however long you want as it will never expire, but you won’t have access to some advanced functions unless you purchase a license. This is not the case – Xinorbis is completely free.

When you run Xinorbis for the first time it will invite you to pick one of several supported languages. After you do that, you will be presented with the application’s interface which, to be honest, is very similar to Windows Explorer. This is not a bad thing – it means that it will take you little time to get accustomed to the Xinorbis interface.

Using Xinorbis is a simple 3-step process.
Step 1: tell the application what you want to scan. You can scan a folder, a network folder, a drive, an entire HDD, an SDD, or a portable storage device.
Step 2: initiate the scan process and wait for Xinorbis to do its job. The time it takes Xinorbis to analyze the drive/folder/storage device you choose depends on how large that device is, how much data is stored on it, and how powerful your machine is.
Step 3: view the wealth of info and all the numerous graphs Xinorbis has to offer.

Xinorbis provides you with a wealth of information about the contents and distribution of files on a hard disk, drive, or external storage device.

Pros

It will take little time to install Xinorbis on a Windows PC. Thanks to Portable Mode, you can take Xinorbis with you. Xinorbis will scan a drive, HDD, SDD, folder, network folder, or external storage device and will provide a lot of info about file distribution and space usage. Xinorbis is freeware. Support for multiple languages is provided.

Cons

It can be sluggish at times.
